As the demands of our fast-paced, information-rich society increase, so does the need for parents to better prepare their child to maximize learning and develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Today’s parents want their children to have an advantage and acquire learning strategies that will become life strategies. Children have a natural inborn inclination to succeed. When they first start to walk, they fall down and learn from their missteps, getting up over and over again until they gain balance and perspective. With each improvement, they increase confidence and try again. The EdVISTA program provides students with the awareness and understanding of how to utilize their inborn learning styles and talents coupled with the particular strategies they need to overcome challenges. The EdVISTA Level I program focuses on enhancing and expanding a student’s school experience by (1) helping him or her understand the thinking process and his/her particular strengths and affinities; and (2) pinpointing recurrent themes in learning and performance that signal a need for intervention. Individualized learning plans address the particular learning challenges that the student is experiencing.

In subsequent levels, the EdVISTA team builds on the foundations established in Level I and with instruction focused on critical thinking and the reasoning process in receptive and expressive language skills or math reasoning skills. Students are taught to master several strategies that will increase organization focus, expand their analytical and deductive reasoning in reading, writing, speaking, or math, and improve test-taking. Individualized remediation, enhancement, and training programs for special areas of desired mastery include:
